Raphaele Tayvah (plantayvah) is a design-researcher and educator.
Currently,
Raphaele designs and researches urban landscapes. A trained horticulturist, he is passionate about the power of interspecies relationships to transform individual and community understandings of climate change. His written and artistic work engages with these themes through the lenses of memory, social justice, and queer theory. He weaves his experience with textile arts into this work, investigating nontraditional forms of architectural representation and the role of crafts in interpreting the built environment. Raphaele brings these passions to the classroom through pedagogy workshops, and as a lecturer with Capel Manor College and the British Academy of Garden Design.
Previously,
